I meant to post this a few days ago, but our weather has been very warm (in the 70s), and it just doesn’t really usher in the Christmas spirit (thank goodness I don’t live in Australia!) like chilly weather that requires a scarf and gloves and where you can see your breath! BUT, I know that folks were likely out decorating this weekend because the weather was PERFECT for doing that – so it’s time for the Christmas light list!
I love going out and looking at Christmas lights, especially when our friends can join us… so over the last few years I’ve done my best to compile a list of places in SW Missouri (mostly the Springfield area) that have been decorated. My list has been compiled since 2009, but I make sure that I keep it updated (to the best of my ability… if you know of a home that is decorated that isn’t listed here, please let me know so I can add it to the list!). I get my information from the local TV station websites (KY3, mostly) and the Springfield news paper. Of course, the addresses listed below were for 2011 (KY3 and the news paper usually don’t start listing addresses until much closer to Christmas – I want to go look at lights NOW!). Over the past few years, very few addresses have NOT decorated – so, most of the time I’m ADDING new addresses, but this will give you a head start (and I’ll update the list as I have more information).
Make sure to visit the BatchGeo – which can make you a driving route page with all of the addresses (some may not exist anymore, so keep that in mind – but 99.5% are there every year). Grab some friends, get some holiday tunes on the radio, make sure you stop by Starbucks and get a salted caramel hot cocoa – then head out to look at the lights. And HAVE FUN!
